This is the shoe that changed the way athletic footwear for kids was built. Young athletes previously had to suffer with very poor equivalents of senior shoes. But not anymore. ASICS decided that it was time young sporting stars were given just as much, if not more support than adults. So the 2000 series runners were born – featuring iconic ASICS technologies as built into our senior models. The GT-2150 GS is toughened up with a wrapped outsole and stitched over the toe to take the extra punishment that kids hand out, but also has a 3 piece forefoot just like in the senior shoes for a great responsive feel at toe off. This was just one aspect where kids shoes had failed before. In the past, the outsoles were often solid rubber which led to very poor flexibility and were also quite bulky and heavy… not anymore!
Stability in this shoe is outstanding with Trusstic and DuoMax built with the Solyte outsole. To complete the package we added forefoot and rearfoot cushioning for maximum shock attenuation. Another detail (minor to some but important to ASICS) is that we built this shoe on a senior last so there is more room for the Australasian foot type. This was part of the Wollongong University study that helped to build this shoe. If you want the ultimate ride and protection for your child, this shoe blows everything else out the water… except for the new GEL-Kayano 16 GS of course!
