The GEL-DS Trainer was originally created to be a super lightweight trainer, with better cushioning and stability characteristics than a standard racing flat. Due to its responsive ride and high levels of cushioning and support, the DS trainer is now used not only for training – but has started to emerge in long distance racing and ironman events.
Feedback for the previous model was overwhelmingly positive, so we retained the midsole/outsole of the DS 14. Developers have focused on the upper, using new materials and other weight saving methods to enhance comfort and performance.
The GEL-DS Trainer 15 sees the introduction of Gill Mesh, a new sandwich mesh located in the quarter panels of the shoe. Gill Mesh effectively forces passing air from the outside of the shoe, inside to ventilate and cool the foot in a superior manner. This results in a healthier and more comfortable in-shoe environment.
